What you’ll do

  1. Pickup from your hotel

    Your guide collects you from your accommodation in Ella, Haputale or Bandarawela.

  2. Nine Arches Bridge

    Start with a visit to the iconic Nine Arches Bridge, a stunning colonial-era structure surrounded by lush greenery. Enjoy the breathtaking views and snap some memorable photos as trains cross the bridge.

  3. Tea factory visit

    Discover the world of Ceylon tea at a local tea factory. Learn about the tea-making process, enjoy a guided tour, and sample some of the finest local teas. The factory tour costs $6 per person, paid on the day.

  4. Little Adam's Peak hike

    Trek up Little Adam's Peak for panoramic views of Ella's rolling hills and tea plantations. The relatively easy hike offers stunning vistas of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

  5. Ravana Falls

    Finish the day at Ravana Falls, a majestic waterfall surrounded by nature. Relax by the viewpoint or take a short walk to explore the falls up close.

  6. Drop off at your hotel

    This tour offers the perfect mix of scenic beauty, adventure, and cultural insight, making it a must-do experience in Ella.

What to bring and wear

  • Comfortable closed walking shoes with grip; the Little Adam's Peak trail is easy but can be slippery after rain
  • Light, breathable clothing and a hat; the hills are cooler than the coast but the midday sun is strong
  • Sunscreen and at least one litre of water per person; your guide carries extra
  • A light rain jacket; hill-country showers arrive quickly and pass just as fast
  • A charged phone or camera; the Nine Arches Bridge and Little Adam's Peak are the photo highlights
  • Cash for the tea factory tour ($6 per person, not included in the tour price), plus a little in rupees for tea, snacks or a tip

Please don't

  • Do not walk on the railway tracks at the Nine Arches Bridge when a train is due; your guide knows the timetable
  • Do not feed or approach the monkeys; they are bold and will take food from bags
  • Do not leave litter on the trails; take everything back with you
  • Do not wear flip-flops on the hike
